Why MBA after BTech ?

9 Corporate Communications Changes to Anticipate for 2020 – BRINK – News and Insights on Global Risk

Why MBA after BTech ?

After BTech should you do MBA. Well, its a good option, if you ask me why I shall tell you the reason. Most IT Firms are more and more business oriented, which means Clients come first. And most of the applications which are being developed my engineers are mostly targeted to help Businesses run successfully.

Business is the oil and engineering is the machinery. And also, when you will climb up the corporate ladder, you are expected to serve roles which are more into Management and less to do with coding. Although, some developers choose a technical path rather than management, companies offer that as well if you wish, there are technical roles as well like architects, CTOs. But even these roles are high level and they are related less to coding and more with designing systems and client oriented.

Often when you join an IT Firm you will find yourself in fields like Supply Chain Management or Customer Releationship Management. These software development, maintainance do require engineers but if you notice these applications have more to do with business functionality. So, if you opt for Management courses, it will give you an edge in your career.

Now, does that mean you leave your placement and go for an MBA. Well, if you have a chance to crack CAT and make your path to IIM thats great.

But what if you don't crack CAT, well the world if full of opportunities.

You can always get an Executive or Online degree or a weekend degree course if you wish and you don't have to leave your job.

There are courses offered by -

1. UpGrad

2. Great Learning

3. AIMA

4. Talentedge

You can always take that leap.

Hope this helps.
